Get some sleep!
Make sure you pick a place closest to the bathroom! While you are resting, your body has to rid itself of poison, so make yourself as comfortable as possible!
Flush it out!
Because diarrhea flushes bacteria out of your intestines, it is important not to take over-the-counter medications that target ending diarrhea. They may just prolong the symptoms of food poisoning. You run the risk of bacteria lingering around longer if you take these, so if you are certain you have food poisoning, let it run its course!
To prevent food poisoning you need to consider the following:
– Keep that fridge cold!(40 degrees F … or colder)
– Keep a cooler in your car to prevent groceries from getting hot on long trips
– Cook eggs carefully. No runny whites, no thick yolks. Avoid raw egg recipes.
– Put leftovers in fridge two hours of finishing the meal.
– Thaw carefully. Thaw frozen raw meat in the refrigerator. No more leaving it on the counter in room temperature!
– Do not let meat juices drip onto other foods.
– Clean utensils thoroughly.
